FAQ
HOW CAN I TAKE CARE OF MY STONE COUNTERTOP?
Natural stone is porous, which requires special care and attention. Sealing is the most important step in preserving its beauty. You should seal your countertops when needed and not based on some arbitrary schedule. Most (but not all) countertops will need sealing upon installation and then resealed once every year depending on the color and porosity of the stone, the quality of the sealer, and proper application.
Generally, granite is a durable, lovely surface in any home. However, to keep it looking its best you need to clean and care for it properly. Many household cleaners, including glass, abrasive, and all purpose can dull or damage the stone and leave the porous surface exposed. To properly clean and protect these surfaces you need to use pH- neutral formula specifically made for them or just use mild soap and water.
Stone care and maintenance can go a long way if done properly and on time. You just need to follow the basic guidelines and can retain the beauty of your countertops for many years to come.
Quartz countertops are fabricated from natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals found in the Earth. Unlike natural stone slabs, which are mined, these slabs are engineered in a factory. Their primary ingredient is ground quartz, combined with polyester resins to bind it and pigments to give it color, resulting in beautiful countertops.
Quartz is arguably the most durable option for countertops. It is a non-porous material, its texture does not allow bacteria to grow and resists against stains, protecting your family and making kitchen clean-up easy. For this reason, quartz countertops never need to be sealed.
Aside from the durability that quartz provides, this material is beautiful, and its wide variety of color options are sure to catch your eye, including colors to mimic the look of natural stones. The design of a quartz countertop not only brings character to your kitchen but offers performance advantages that exceed other traditional materials.
